Biography
Holly Caitlin Farris focuses her legal practice on Criminal Defense and Family Law. Ms. Farris is a 2014 graduate of James Madison University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Justice Studies with a concentration in Crime and Criminology. During her time at JMU, Holly studied abroad throughout Italy taking courses in Organized Crime and Comparative Homicide. Ms. Farris received her Juris Doctor in 2017 from Washington and Lee University School of Law where she was a Virginia Capital Case Clearinghouse clinic member who worked on multiple capital murder cases at the pre-trial, trial, and appellate levels. During her undergraduate and law school summers, Ms. Farris interned with the Roanoke City Police Department, the Roanoke City Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, and the Roanoke City Public Defender’s Office.
Ms. Farris is a member of the Virginia Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Salem/Roanoke County Bar Association, the Virginia Women Attorneys Association, and the Ted Dalton American Inn of Court. Ms. Farris also volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and is a board member of Health Focus of Southwest Virginia.
Ms. Farris is a Roanoke County native and graduate of William Byrd High School. She is thrilled to be back in the Star City serving the community she has always called home. In her free time, Holly enjoys traveling, dancing, attending the theatre, watching football (Fly Eagles Fly and Go Dukes!), and listening to Taylor Swift.
